Why is my steam downloading file corrupt?

I would like to point out that this guide was written as the steps involved helped me to correct this issue for myself and hopefully for those reading it in future.

Because i have recently had this issue affect me on CSGO, where the game closes itself and returns me to desktop after several minutes, there have been very little guides or help on this subject that actually work and i have had to try many different methods to find a fix.

Finally i was able to find a way to correct this issue and it worked. If you are suffering from this issue when downloading a game, try these steps as this worked for me the 1st time i tried it so i decided to make a guide that hopefully can help others. STEPS: 1. Depending on the type of content steam may just download 'patches', chunk of content that needs to be applied to your files.

That way, it may appears that steam stopped downloading but it is actually working on updating the files. Steam also use an algorithm to compress the downloaded data, which then needs to be uncompressed locally. Be sure that when steam stop downloading, nothing else is going on no cpu activity, no hard drive activity - in short, be certain that the problem is your network. If it is not the network, then all you need to do is wait for steam to finish its job.
